Alexander McQueen, fashion designer, dies at 40

The British designer was found dead Thursday in his London home. The death was an apparent suicide.

McQueen's death comes just as designers in New York have begun unveiling their fall 2010 collections. McQueen was scheduled to show his line in Paris in March.

Handbags are not so hefty according to research conducted by English retail chain Debenhams. A typical bag now weighs 1.5kg compared to 3.5kg back in 2006. Causes being the recession and lighter gadgets. Ladies are opting for items such as lighter mobile phones and combined blush and lipstick, rather than individual makeup.
